The City of Chino is seeking a highly motivated engineer eager to join a top-tier organization to oversee a robust, well-funded Capital Improvement Program. The Capital Improvement Projects Engineering Manager is a key leadership position in a Public Works Department focused on the design and construction of infrastructure that enhances the lives of Chino’s residents and the business community. The Capital Improvement Program budget includes $120 million with over 80 individual capital projects in progress. Water, sewer, and storm drain projects represent 35% of the CIP with another 33% budgeted for street improvements. Budgeted projects include annual pavement rehabilitation, ADA compliance, water, sewer, drainage, and the regional corridors for Euclid Avenue and Pine Avenue extensions. Reporting to the Deputy Director/City Engineer, the CIP Engineering Manager oversees the City’s Capital Improvement Program, including all aspects of engineering, construction, inspection, budgeting, and financing. Reporting to this position is a professional project management staff with varying professional and technical levels of experience. The CIP Manager is responsible for the overall coordination and direction of the staff’s work in the programming, planning, design, and construction of all capital improvement projects.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, or a related field and certificate of registration as a Civil Engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers. Requires 5 years of increasingly responsible, diversified experience, including or supplemented by experience in supervision. Additionally, 5 or more years of experience in a public-sector setting (highly desirable).

The salary range for the CIP Engineering Manager is $129,324 to $171,036 annually DOQ and will be determined based on negotiations. In addition, the City offers an outstanding benefits package including CalPERS retirement.
