For the role of Water Division Superintendent, the City is seeking a candidate with strategic leadership experience and solid technical abilities. The position reports to the Director of Utilities and is a key member of the Public Utilities Department’s leadership team. This key division manager level position is supported by an Assistant Superintendent and is directly responsible for the operation and maintenance of the City’s water system consisting of a 24×7 water filtration facility rated at 22 MGD and a distribution network serving 20,000 retail customers and three wholesale customers. This position is directly responsible for the supervision of (13) production employees and (17) distribution employees.
This position requires the equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of increasingly responsible management experience in the maintenance of a purification plant and distribution system including a minimum of 3 years in a managerial role. This position requires a track record of success in managing both operations and capital projects and best practices in environmental quality and sustainability. Receipt of a State of Georgia Class 1 Operator Certification (within one year of hire) is required. The salary for this position will depend upon qualifications. The current salary range is up to $99,840.
