The upscale, growing suburban community of Oro Valley, Arizona, located three miles north of Tucson in the Sonoran Desert, is in search of a Town Manager. This national search effort is currently underway, and interested candidates are encouraged to explore this exceptional opportunity to join an outstanding municipal organization with much to offer, both professionally and personally. The Town of Oro Valley is a full-service municipality and provides high-quality services. The Town has a balanced budget with Total Revenue in FY2022-23 of $147.7M. Total budgeted staff is 416 full-time equivalents throughout the Town’s 12 departments. The Town Manager will have an opportunity to focus on key areas such as: Transparency, Trust, and Accountability; Town Council Engagement; Leadership; Fiscal Responsibility and Sustainability; Community and Economic Development; Community and Economic Development; and Collaboration and Partnerships. Importantly, the new Town Manager should be comfortable in an actively involved community where public dialogue is frequent and encouraged.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree and significant managerial service in a municipality or an equivalent complex government organization is sought. Experience may be drawn from the executive level or as an assistant/deputy. Ideally, professional career background and experience should include exposure to most or all aspects of managing a full-service municipality. Designation as an ICMA Credentialed Manager is desired but is not required. A graduate degree in business or public administration or a related field is preferred.
The salary range for this position is expected to be in the high $100s to low $200s, DOQE. Additionally, the Town offers an attractive benefit package including membership in Arizona State Retirement System. The Town Council will negotiate an employment agreement with the top candidate that may include moving and relocation.
