The City of Santa Rosa is conducting national search for the position of Police Chief. The Police Chief leads the Santa Rosa Police Department in its mission of protecting life and property and improving the quality of life and the feeling of safety among the citizens of Santa Rosa, by creating a compelling vision of service, collaboration and community engagement. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required. A Master’s degree is highly desirable. Requires a California P.O.S.T. Management Certificate and/or the ability to obtain a California P.O.S.T. Executive Certificate within three years of appointment. Completion of the California P.O.S.T. Command College or equivalent law enforcement executive training curriculum is highly desirable. **Salary $176,197 to $218,748** annually DOQ. The City of Santa Rosa offers an excellent management benefits package including CalPERS (2.7% at 57, three year average formula for new members of PERS and members from a reciprocal agency with a six month or more break in service will contribute one and one-half percent (1.5%) above the contribution rate set by CalPERS for PEPRA Tier 3 members; and 3% at 55, three year average highest year formula for members from a reciprocal agency with less than a six month break in service with an employee contribution of 10.5%).
