The City of Riverside is recruiting nationally for a highly experienced utilities professional to manage the day-to-day activities for this unique and award-winning city. This at-will position reports to the City Manager and works closely with an appointed nine-member Board. The General Manager is accountable for leading a dynamic and robust organization of over 650 dedicated employees with a combined capital and operating budget of approximately $450 million (FY2019-2020). This is an exciting and stable opportunity with a variety of challenges and opportunities for an experienced utilities executive. The ideal candidate must have strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with a successful track record of leadership in the utility industry. A Bachelor’s degree in utilities-related or another relevant discipline is required; a graduate degree in business administration, public administration, public policy or other similar field is highly desired. This position requires at least five years of executive management and leadership experience in utilities-related or another relevant field. The annual salary range for this position is up to $268,608. Placement within the range is negotiable and dependent upon qualifications.
