Coconino County is recruiting for a Public Works Deputy Director. The Deputy Director plays an important role in building a learning community and fostering a thriving culture through innovative leadership. This individual will oversee Fleet Services and Administrative Services Divisions and the Public Works Facility Management and Solid Waste teams while improving business practices and supporting team member development. The Public Works Deputy Director understands and embraces the breadth, complexity and satisfaction of Public Works and the role of servant-leader while demonstrating extensive experience with fiscal and budget management, facility management, fleet services and administrative oversight. The Deputy Director supervises the Fleet Services and Administrative Services Divisions and oversees our Facilities Management and Solid Waste teams. The Deputy Director provides consultative leadership, empowerment, partnership and coordination of resources to foster collaboration across departmental divisions, community partners and stakeholders to achieve strategic goals and create significant positive impacts for our constituents and communities. The selected candidate is expected to be flexible and adaptable, responsive to the needs of the entire organization, and able to manage tactical and strategic issues simultaneously.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of progressively responsible work in public works or related field, including 5 years of supervision; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
The salary range for the Public Works Deputy Director will be commensurate with the candidate’s level of expertise and knowledge.
