The Dublin San Ramon Services District, located in Dublin, California, is currently recruiting for an Operations Director. Reporting to the Assistant General Manager, the Operations Director is responsible for five divisions: Plant Operations, Mechanical Maintenance, Instrumentation, Controls & Electrical, Laboratory & Technical Services, and Operations Support Services. The Operations Director is also responsible for assisting with formulating policy alternatives, developing goals and objectives, managing staff, and administering the annual budget of $19 million with a staff of 64, including the Director position. The Operations Department provides 24/7 planned and responsive wastewater treatment services, self-generated power production, facility and fleet management, biosolids land disposal, the District’s Environmental Health & Safety programs, and related regulatory compliance. Operations coordinates with the Field Operations Division to provide core preventative maintenance and regulatory services to the water distribution system, recycled water distribution system, and the wastewater collections system. Finally, the Operations Department provides the contractual operation and maintenance and regulatory oversight of the District’s two Joint Powers Authorities.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of increasingly responsible experience in the operations or maintenance of a wastewater, recycled water, or water treatment facility or similar industrial facility, including 5 years of supervisory responsibility. A Master’s degree and public sector experience is desirable. Possession of one of the following certifications or registration in the State of California is desirable: registration as a PE (Civil); Grade V WTPO Certificate; or Grade 5 WDO Certificate (D5) and a Grade 1 WTO Certificate (T1).
The anticipated annual salary for the Operations Director is $215,196 to $261,564 DOQ. Additionally, the District offers an excellent executive benefit package, including CalPERS retirement and retiree medical; relocation expenses are negotiable.
