Pinal County, Arizona is conducting a national search effort for a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Director. Importantly, this position is an opportunity for a dynamic individual to innovate and implement new ideas in an evolving organization. Currently, the County has 2,359 budgeted FTEs across more than 50 different elected offices and departments, including the Pinal County Superior Court. Pinal County has a strong financial position with significant reserves. The selected candidate will perform hands-on professional work in planning, directing, coordinating, and engaging in the activities of the Human Resources Department. The HR Department currently has 24 positions to serve the countywide organization. The HR Director will also be an essential partner supporting the various operating and elected departments in achieving their staffing and goals for a healthy workforce. This is an exempt position and is “at will” to the County Manager.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration with a concentration in HR, Organizational Management, or other closely related field and 8 years of progressively responsible professional Human Resources work experience, of which 5 years are in a supervisory or management capacity. An equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience may substitute for the minimum requirements. A Master’s degree is preferred. Senior Professional in Human Resources or Professional in Human Resources Certification is also preferred. Additionally, Professional Human Resources experience in the public sector, including compensation and classification strategies and experience in self-insurance is desired.
