The North Kern Water Storage District’s Board of Directors is seeking a solution-oriented, innovative, and experienced professional to serve as its next General Manager. The District located northwest of Bakersfield, California, has an experienced staff consisting of approximately 34 FT positions focusing on the delivery of agricultural water to landowners within its boundaries. The General Manager is an at-will position responsible for all affairs of the District, including administration, operations, engineering, finance, and related support activities and has primary responsibility for maintaining positive employer-employee relations. The General Manager also represents the District to professional organizations, governmental agencies, environmental interests, the region, and the local community and is expected to have extensive experience and expertise with California water issues.
Requires 10 years of relevant professional management experience. A degree in business, engineering, agriculture, or law is preferred.
The annual salary for this position is highly competitive and commensurate with qualifications and responsibilities similar to other water agencies of comparable size and scope. Salary offered will be dependent upon a candidate’s leadership skills and experience. A multi-year employment agreement will be negotiated with the selected candidate and may also include moving and relocation expenses to relocate to the Bakersfield area.
