The City’s all-funds budget for fiscal year 2019/20 totals $110,044,040 million (which includes the Succession Agency Budget) and a total workforce of 367.18 FTE positions. The Management Services Department consists of 16.45 dedicated FTE, organized into two divisions: Finance and Support Services. The Director is an at-will, executive position and serves at the pleasure of the City Manager. With broad oversight over all financial aspects and responsibilities for the City of Monterey Park, the Director of Management Services is responsible for ensuring internal controls are established and maintained to ensure that the assets of the City are protected. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree is desired. Also requires 7 years of increasingly responsible finance and accounting experience that includes the investment of funds, including four years of administrative and supervisory responsibility. Financial management and investment experience in a government agency are preferred. Salary range for this position is $133,000 to $171,000 DOQ and is supplemented by a benefits package including CalPERS retirement.
