The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) is conducting a national search effort seeking a dynamic leader and effective manager to be the Director of Fixed Route Services. The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada is both the transit authority and the transportation planning agency for Southern Nevada. This high-level position is responsible for direction, management, supervision, and coordination of RTC’s fixed route system through close coordination with RTC staff and contractors associated with RTC’s contracted Fixed Route Transit Services. During fiscal year 2021, the RTC has budgeted $228.5 million to cover all the operational expenses. Contracted Services account for $197.6 million; Contracted Salary and Benefits ($19 million) and Administrative Expenses ($11.9 million). The ideal candidate for the Director of Fixed Route Services will be a strategic and innovative manager with a proven track record of having worked with fixed routes and a transportation system for a large, diverse metropolitan area.

Requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 7 years of full-time professional fixed route bus transit operations experience, 2 years of which was in a managerial role, preferably within the last 24 months. An advanced degree may be a plus combined with the appropriate professional experience. Candidates should be aware that the State of Nevada has no state personal income tax.

The annual salary range for this position is $111,255 to $187,179, with anticipated placement to be at $130,000 DOQ. Additionally, the RTC offers an excellent benefits package including membership in the Nevada State Public Employees Retirement System under an employer paid plan. RTC will offer reimbursement for a portion of the selected candidate’s moving and relocation expenses.
