The City of Palm Springs is seeking a Director of Finance & Treasurer to be key financial strategist for the City and will be expected to continue to support a collaborative and transparent organizational culture, outstanding customer service, and on-going cost effectiveness for municipal operations. This at will position, serving at the pleasure of the City Manager, will be responsible for managing and overseeing the activities and operations of the Finance Department. The Finance Department is comprised of approximately 17 FTEs and a General Fund budget of approximately $3.6 million. This position requires 6 years of increasingly responsible finance experience, including 3 years of management and administrative responsibility. Experience working for a California public entity is strongly preferred. A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, public finance, or a closely related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience would be considered qualifying. A CPA license and Certified California Municipal Treasurer is highly desirable. The annual salary range for the Director of Finance & Treasurer is $130,452 to $184,212.
