The County of Marin, California seeks a Deputy Director of Human Resources whose primary assignment will be to oversee the employee and labor relations unit of the Human Resources Department. Principal among the Deputy Director’s duties will be to serve as the County’s Chief Labor Negotiator in contract negotiations and handle other labor relations matters. This at-will position reports to the Director of Human Resources and manages a team of 4 professional and administrative employees and provides policy direction to embedded staff in Health & Human Services. Ideal candidates will have negotiated and implemented public sector labor agreements and have strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and emotional intelligence.
Requires any combination of education and experience that would provide the knowledge and abilities listed. Typically, equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university AND 4 years of professional level human resources experience which has included management, supervisory, or administrative experience. Experience in a public agency operating a merit system and/or in a union environment is highly desirable.
Annual salary for this position is $155,792 to $171, 746. The County also offers an attractive benefits package, including MCERA Retirement.
