Renowned for its outstanding quality of life and small-town setting, the City of Norco (population approximately 27,000) is seeking a dynamic and accomplished executive to join this financially healthy and well-managed organization. Appointed by the City Council, the City Manager advises and assists the Council Members while exercising significant independent judgement and initiative. The City Council is seeking an engaging leader who is dedicated to providing excellent customer service at all levels of city government, as well as possessing a strong passion for public service. The City Manager directs, coordinates, and manages the overall administrative activities and operation of the City. Additionally, the City Manager serves as the Executive Director of the Redevelopment Agency and the Emergency Services Manager. The ideal candidate is expected to have strong leadership skills, effective and collaborative interpersonal and communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high quality services.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years of executive level management in municipal or other related form of local government; a minimum of 6 years must be in a City Manager or Assistant/Deputy City Manager role. Experience working with an engaged elected body is strongly desired. An advanced degree is preferred.
The current City Manager’s annual salary is $227,128. Salary is under review and negotiable with City Council, depending on skills, experience, education, and background. The City also offers a competitive benefits package included CalPERS retirement.
