The City of Glendale, Arizona is offering an outstanding career opportunity for a strategic and innovative leader to serve as Chief Information Officer (CIO). This at-will position reports to the City Manager’s Office and is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team. The CIO oversees an authorized staff of 35 for centralized services in the Department of Technology and Innovation and is directly responsible for the City’s strategic use of technology operations for all City departments to improve processes, capture data analytics, and enhance citizen services. The CIO will be responsible for leading in the four major categories of Strategy, Leadership, Team Development, and IT Operations. The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication, interpersonal, and management skills and will have a keen understanding and the ability to strategically balance city-wide infrastructure and technology needs with the individual priorities and concerns of City departments.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in management information systems or a related field and 5 to 7 years of increasingly responsible management/administrative experience in leading an information technology department or organization.
The annual salary for this position is up to $175,000 (currently under review) and will be based upon the qualifications of the selected candidate. The City of Glendale may offer moving and relocation reimbursement. Additionally, the City offers a comprehensive benefits package, including Arizona State Retirement System.
