Reporting to the Deputy City Manager, and with nominal direction, this position executes responsibilities as Chief Information Officer of the City of Austin and is responsible for leading strategic planning and directing the activities of Communications and Technology Management (CTM) operations. This position aligns departmental planning, policies, procedures, personnel, and budget with the strategic direction of the City Manager’s Office. This position partners with local and regional private and public institutions with regard to innovative, collaborative, and resident-focused business technology solutions. The Communications and Technology Department has an annual operating budget of $121 million, funding 320 FTEs across six locations within the City of Austin. Minimum qualifications required are a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in a related field and at least seven years of experience, including four years of experience in a management capacity. Anticipated starting salary is $195,000 to $205,000, DOQ, including an excellent benefits package.
