Marin County is offering an excellent opportunity for a progressive and strategic leader to act as the Chief Assistant Director of Information Service & Technology. Reporting to the CIO, the Chief Assistant Director will oversee internal operations in a comprehensive, service-oriented department and will assist with planning and implementing strategic direction for the IST Department based on priorities, goals, and objectives. The Information Services and Technology (IST) Department has 93 budgeted full-time positions and operates on an annual budget of over $23M. Based on experience and expertise, the Chief Assistant Director will provide direct management of one of the two large operating divisions – Business Solution Delivery or Enterprise Platform & Services. The ideal candidate will focus primarily on internal operations and the delivery of innovative technology services on a county-wide basis. This position requires education equivalent to graduation from a four-year college with major course work in computer science, information technology, business or public administration, or a closely related field. Additionally, 5 years of experience managing information technology systems is required with at least 3 years of senior-level management or administrative experience in a public agency. The annual salary for this position is $171,495 to $189,072 annually, DOQ.
