The Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans (SWBNO) is recruiting nationally for the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This extraordinary opportunity focuses the role of CFO on being part of an executive leadership team that runs the business of SWBNO. The new CFO, with oversight of Finance, Budget, Accounting, and Procurement, has a dedicated staff of approximately 200 full-time employees. The 2020 operating budget is approximately $281 million, with $116 million from water revenues and $145 million from wastewater. Drainage revenues come from ad valorem taxes of $65 million. The SWBNO has a 10-year $1.4 billion capital investment program.
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of progressively professional experience in financial management, financial analysis, accounting, auditing, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, and investment management, debt issuance and management in a municipal, local or other governmental entity and 8 years of supervisory and management experience over a related major division or organization. A Master’s degree in a related discipline is preferred but not required
