For the role of Business Services Director, the City is seeking a candidate with strategic leadership skills, experience in the development of services to enhance the core businesses of the organization and a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and partners. This individual will have the opportunity to develop resilient operations so citizens get the best experience from their government through effective visibility and coordination of the Business Services environment guided by the use of effective data analytics. The position is appointed by the City Manager and will report to the Chief Financial Officer/Assistant City Manager. The ideal candidate will have a broad background in municipal finance, human resources, risk management and procurement with a strong track record of success in managing administrative services in a municipal setting. The Business Services Director is directly responsible for a department of approximately 246 full-time employees, with an operating budget of $43.5 million.

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7 years of budgeting, accounting, and/or auditing experience and a minimum of 5 years in finance, human resources, and procurement disciplines. Master’s degree is preferred along with Certified Public Accountant (CPA); Certified Public Finance Officer (CFPO); Certified Government Financial Officer (CGFM); Society of Human Resources Manager (SHRM – CP or SHRM – SCP), Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO) and Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) and Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards (SEFA) preparation experience.
