The City of Beverly Hills is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Building Inspection Manager to lead the day-to-day building and trade work inspection operations of the Development Services Division. This position will be responsible for the inspection of residential and commercial buildings, including interpreting the technical codes, related ordinances, and regulations to ensure inspection services are thorough and timely. The Building Inspection Manager will also ensure the delivery of excellent customer service, providing timely, responsive services to internal and external customers.
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: Equivalent to an Associate’s degree from an accredited college with major course work in business administration, construction technology, organizational management, construction management or a related field. Three years of increasingly responsible experience comparable to that gained as a Senior Building Inspector, reviewing plans, processing permits, or conducting inspections in a municipal government; including one year providing technical and functional supervision over assigned personnel. Certification by the state of California or a nationally recognized association of building officials in at least two inspection areas at the time of appointment. Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California driver’s license is required.
The annual salary for the Building Inspection Manager is $110,492 to $137,274. An additional 2% base salary increase will be provided effective October 1, 2022, with a new annual salary up to $140,019. The City offers an attractive benefit package including CalPERS retirement.
