Internationally known for its fine wines, exciting restaurants, and world-class resorts, Napa County (pop. of over 140,000) is currently recruiting for an Assistant Director of Corrections. With a total of 117 FTEs and a current fiscal year budget of over $20 million, the Napa County Department of Corrections has jurisdiction over the Napa County Jail Facility and the recently completed Reentry Facility. The Department is responsible for the coordination of all programs and services related to institutional care, treatment, and rehabilitation of inmates, including intake screening, diagnosis, classification, and programs that deal with sentencing alternatives. The Assistant Director of Corrections is an at-will, senior-level management position appointed by the Director of Corrections, responsible for establishing, interpreting, and carrying out overall departmental policies and procedures. This position is responsible for analyzing and making recommendations on organizational, financial, and procedural matters; program development and coordination; assisting the Director in the administration of the Department and acts for the Director as required. Requires a Bachelor’s degree plus 10 years of experience working in California jails, including 4 years in a supervisory position, ideally in the grade of lieutenant or above. The annual salary for the position is $131,997 to $160,430 DOQ, supplemented with an excellent benefits package, including CalPERS retirement.
