The County of Marin, California seeks an Assistant Director, Information Services and Technology Department to serve as an important member of the Department’s Senior Leadership Team. The Information Services and Technology (IST) Department has 90 budgeted full-time positions and operates on an annual budget of $20 million, with additional funding for technology projects. This career opportunity is the result of a recent retirement of a long tenured employee. This at-will executive level position reports to the Chief Information Officer and will oversee, manage, and lead the Enterprise Platforms & Services (EPS) Division with a talented and highly experienced staff of over 30 technology professionals. The ideal candidate will focus primarily on the overall enterprise strategy for both the short- and long-term technology needs on a County-wide basis. Blending forward-thinking skills with the ability to lead day-to-day activities and operations are skills sought in this position and will be extremely vital in this role.

Requires equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a field related to the work and 6 years of professional experience in information systems including at least 3 years at a supervisory level. Specific experience with the following platforms, technologies, and software will be beneficial for the Assistant Director: Cloud strategy for enterprise infrastructure; Datacenter technologies; Multi-tiered architecture standards; Network and datacenter disaster recovery (DR) planning; Unified communication solutions; Database systems and administration; Security platforms and services; Microsoft products; Vendor licensing and contracts.

Annual salary range for this position is $150,342 to $182,707 annually, DOQ. The County also offers an attractive benefits package, including MCERA Retirement.
