The City of Denton is conducting a national search for a talented, progressive, and dedicated recreation professional to serve as its next Director of Parks and Recreation. The selected candidate will enjoy working for a progressive local government located in one of the most economically prosperous areas in the nation. The Parks and Recreation Department is staffed with 157 FTEs, inclusive of seasonal and temporary employees. The Director will work collaboratively with a seven-member Parks, Recreation, and Beautification Board. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Parks and Recreation Management, Public Administration, or a related field and 10 years of progressively responsible experience in a municipal parks and recreation department or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The Director of Parks and Recreation salary is $110,664 to $183,702 annually, with an anticipated starting salary in the $140s, depending on qualifications, plus a superior benefits package including Texas Municipal Retirement System.
