The City of Cincinnati Board of Health is conducting a national search for a highly experienced, strategic, service-oriented, and innovative Health Commissioner. This is an extraordinary opportunity to provide oversight and policy influence to directly support the preservation and protection of public health in Cincinnati. The Health Commissioner oversees the Cincinnati Health Department (CHD) with its FY 2018 budget of $51.9 million and approximately 450 staff comprised of physicians, nurses, and other professionals. CHD addresses the health needs of the Cincinnati community through the operation of 7 Primary Care Health Centers, 9 Dental Centers, 2 Vision Centers, and 13 School-Based Health Centers, serving over 40,000 patients annually. This position requires the equivalent to a Doctor of Medicine degree or a Doctoral degree and 8 years of supervisory and administrative experience in public health administration. A Master’s degree in public health combined with another graduate degree(s) may be considered.
The salary for the Health Commissioner is up to $190,727 (DOQ).
