This is an exciting opportunity to join the Redwood Coast Regional Center (RCRC) as its new Executive Director. RCRC is one of 21 regional centers located throughout California serving the needs of children and adults with developmental disabilities. With a contract of approximately $150 million with the State of California, Department of Developmental Services, Redwood Coast Regional Center serves approximately 4,000 individuals in Mendocino, Lake, Humboldt, and Del Norte counties. The Executive Director of the Redwood Coast Regional Center is the administrative head of the RCRC organization and, as a result, is responsible for implementing the strategic plan, decisions, and policies as determined by the Board of Directors. A key responsibility of the Executive Director is to continually oversee, monitor, and enhance the delivery of services to RCRC’s clients within the context of achieving outstanding customer service and a well-managed, service delivery model. The Executive Director will work to build consensus and unify a passionate Board through collaborative efforts. Currently, the regional center’s executive office is in Ukiah with additional offices in Crescent City, Eureka, Fort Bragg, and Lakeport. To strongly encourage interest from a broad and diverse applicant pool, the Board of Directors is open to and will be flexible if the new Executive Director prefers the executive office location to be in the City of Eureka.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of progressively responsible executive or management experience obtained at the senior level with a nonprofit entity, private organization, or a public agency, which must include serving people with intellectual/developmental disabilities. Additionally, candidates must have 5 years of excellent performance in management in a nonprofit setting or comparable organization. Experience working with people who are developmentally disabled and their families is desired along with working knowledge of the Lanterman Act and California’s delivery service system. A Master’s degree is or higher in Business, Public or Healthcare Administration, Human Services, or Education is desired.
The base salary for the Executive Director is $140,000 or may be higher for an accomplished professional dependent upon qualifications. Moving and relocation expenses may be included in the employment offer.
