The nation’s global leader in trade and transportation, the Port of Los Angeles is offering an exciting opportunity for a politically savvy and astute professional to serve as Deputy Executive Director, Stakeholder Engagement. This executive-level position will have an opportunity to interact with the Port’s array of local stakeholders as well as various local, regional, statewide, and national elected officials and stakeholders including periodic involvement with international customers. This at-will leadership position will oversee key staff (total of 35 staff) in external relations, government affairs, communications, community relations, media relations, and labor and workforce development. The ideal candidate will have the ability to strengthen the stakeholder relationships that promote innovation, collaboration, transparency, and partnership and will also have a genuine appreciation for diversity of ideas and sensitivity for cultural differences, customs, and protocol. Requires a Bachelor’s degree plus significant senior-level experience. This position has a highly competitive salary of $194,726 plus outstanding executive-level benefits including retirement with the Los Angeles City Employee Retirement System (LACERS).
