East Bay Regional Park District (Park District) is conducting an extensive search for an experienced and highly energetic professional to serve as the new Chief of Design & Construction. Reporting directly to the Assistant General Manager of Acquisition, Stewardship and Development Division, the Chief of Design & Construction plans, organizes, directs, and manages the design and construction of public parkland and recreational facilities and amenities within a framework of an environmental ethic in support of the Park District’s mission of preservation and conservation of natural and cultural resources. The ideal candidate will have exceptional leadership skills along with the ability to balance public involvement, transparency, and aggressive timetables with an appreciation for nature, open space, and public parks. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of experience in the design of public park-type facilities with 4 years at the middle management level; an engineering or architecture license from the State of California is preferred. The salary range for this position is $124,280 to $158,558 with possible future merit steps up to $183,539. The Park District also offers an attractive benefits package including CalPERS retirement.
