This innovative
and forward-thinking organization is seeking a dynamic and high energy
Director of Health Benefits to grow the health benefits programs offered
to current members and also expand membership participation. Located
in Cerritos, California, ASCIP is a nonprofit JPA serving l54 California
public school districts, community colleges, charter schools, and subsidiary
JPAs. Reporting to the CEO/Deputy CEO, this senior management position
is responsible for the implementation of policies to support the development,
marketing, management and strategic growth of this health benefits program.
The Director will have a unique combination of talent in interpersonal
and technical abilities complemented with excellent communication and
presentation skills. Candidates must have a strong focus on excellence
in customer service. The Director will also be responsible for selection,
management and evaluation of service providers supporting the program
as well as oversight of a small internal staff. Team and client service
orientation are also vital. Understanding of underwriting, actuarial
concepts, rate setting and the health benefits community is essential
to success. A Bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree and
professional designations (CEBS, ARM) are desirable. Candidate should
have seven years of professional experience in middle or upper management
including supervision of staff. Salary range is up to $149,940 with
outstanding benefits package including employer-paid PERS retirement
(2% @ 55), deferred compensation and auto allowance.
