Candidate's Code of Ethics

Ralph Andersen & Associates recognizes the International City/County Management Association's (ICMA) Code of Ethics and we expect our candidates, at all levels, to embrace this approach to careers in local government.

ICMA's guideline for length of service in local government is a minimum of two years. This is generally considered necessary in order to render a professional service to local government. A short tenure should be the exception rather than a recurring experience. Additionally, ICMA stresses it is the responsibility of the candidate to ascertain conditions of employment before acceptance of an offer. Inadequately determining terms of employment prior to arrival does not justify premature termination.
